Eddie the Eagle
Eddie has the type of personality that when he's faced with challenges, he pushes through until he beats them. He aims to be in the Olympics because he wants to prove that his dreams aren't impossible. If I had seen this movie in August I still would've liked it, because I really like movies based on true stories. But the difference between now and then are the thoughts that I had during the movie. Throughout the whole movie I was thinking if Eddie thought that if he competed in the Olympics, he would then be happy. But when he tried to compete he felt like a fool because he had the lowest score out of all fifty-eight skiers. What I learned from Eddie is that when you're confronted with defeat, you must learn from it and use the lesson you learned to make yourself stronger. Eddie learned from his coach that he was only seen as a laughingstock, and from that, told the world that he was going to compete in the ninety-meter ski jump and was able to pull it off.

Call To Action Day Reflection
Throughout my whole life, I've been shown that those who are mentally challenged are different than I am. I was so happy to learn that what I've been shown my whole life was wrong. They loved to sing Karaoke! I definitely would've sang "September" or something else if we had more time. Janette sang "Como La Flor" by Selena and Daniel sang "Summer Nights" from "Grease". I didn't think that I could hold a conversation with them but I was wrong. Even though most of them didn't know the words, they still sang along. I learned that Janette was from South City and once went to Jefferson High. Then, when we went to the gym to play basketball, where I learned that Matt is great at free throws! Every time I passed the ball back to him, he'd move back a little each more and make the free throw. This event taught me that those who are mentally challenged are more capable of doing things than I thought they were. One thing that I wish I was more like them in was the amount of happiness they had. When we were interacting with them, their faces would light up like a light bulb. I remember talking with Daniel about Scooby Doo and how Scooby warned Shaggy about the Black Knight behind him. He looked so happy just talking about Scooby Doo and Shaggy and the Black Knight. I wish we could all be as happy as Daniel is in our daily lives.

Blog Post#3- Results Of Your Happiness Journal
September was an alright month for me. A lot of things happened, some good, some bad. The best day for me had to be the 21st. I started off the day right by listening to "September" by Earth, Wind, and Fire. I set it up to be my alarm in the morning. The first lyric is "Do you remember? The 21st night of September?" Then I went with my mom and older sister to Elephant Bar. When I got there I ordered a mango swirl with kids pizza because that's what I always get when I go to a restaurant. After that, I hung out with my friends Torch, Isai, Rigo, Jackie, and Dave. We went and got food and then chilled at Jackie's house. Out of all the days of the month, the 21st was my favorite. Nothing went wrong and I wasn't too tired or drowsy. I think everything clicked that day because of two things: 1, it was a Friday, and 2, I got to go home. Being in college is great and all, but like the saying goes, "Home is where the Heart is."

Blog Post#2-Part 2-Flow Achieved?
So for the past few days I've been using my creativeness to help me with my homework and studying. For homework, I try to see how much of an assignment I can do before the end of 15 minutes. I got the idea from Mr. Fitzgerald and it was really helpful. For studying, I'd draw pictures of things to help me remember "Why Ice Floats" or what the main ideas of "Fun Home" are. I wasn't able to achieve flow with the homework portion but the studying portion was really easy to flow with. While I was focusing on certain homework, I forgot to do some of the other assignments(like this blog post).

Blog Post#2 Part 1-Signature Strength Applied
So my best strength is "Humor" but I have no idea how to apply it towards homework. I mean I could try to make it funny but I really don't see that happening. Homework has always been a type of chore for me. I've never found myself laughing at homework so this will be quite a challenge. Today I learned from my teacher that I could instead use my other strength of "Creativity" and make homework a type of challenge, like a kind of game. I'm really curious to see if it'll work so I'll start doing it today.

Blog Post #1=Who Are You?
I feel that the results that the VIA Survey gave were accurate. My top five strengths are Appreciation of Beauty & Excellence, Creativity, Honesty, Kindness, and my favorite one, Humor. I love making people laugh, if I can make someone smile then I can smile. It makes me feel good inside when I can make someone laugh. I like thinking of ways a problem could be solved, it's like puzzles. I am mostly honest with people when I need to be, but there are times when we must lie. I always try to be nice to new people I meet, good impressions are everything to how a person judges you. My bottom five strengths are Spirituality, Perseverance, Zest, Love of Learning, and at the very bottom, Forgiveness. I never have enough energy when I'm at school. I always feel tired because I go to sleep late. Learning in school is ok to me, it all depends on two things: Do I like the teacher, and do I enjoy the subject. If both of those are no, then I know I will fail the class. I like most of my college teachers, they're a lot more lenient than my Freshmen year teachers at High School. It's really hard for me to forgive people sometimes. If they have said or done something to me that is messed up, I begin to ignore them and cut them off from my life. There were some surprises among the results. I thought Loyalty would've been lower than spirituality, because I am not a good leader. If I am not confident in the subject at hand, I won't be confident as a leader. According to the results, I am someone who you can trust, will make you laugh, thinks creatively, is kind, and appreciates beauty. It describes how I work better alone even though I wish to meet new people. There are many other types of surveys on the internet, but they weren't as accurate as the one I took today.
