Eddie the Eagle
Eddie has the type of personality that when he's faced with challenges, he pushes through until he beats them. He aims to be in the Olympics because he wants to prove that his dreams aren't impossible. If I had seen this movie in August I still would've liked it, because I really like movies based on true stories. But the difference between now and then are the thoughts that I had during the movie. Throughout the whole movie I was thinking if Eddie thought that if he competed in the Olympics, he would then be happy. But when he tried to compete he felt like a fool because he had the lowest score out of all fifty-eight skiers. What I learned from Eddie is that when you're confronted with defeat, you must learn from it and use the lesson you learned to make yourself stronger. Eddie learned from his coach that he was only seen as a laughingstock, and from that, told the world that he was going to compete in the ninety-meter ski jump and was able to pull it off.

"Yay - I'm done."
Hey Mika,
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome that you had different thoughts having seen the movie now rather than in August. The main theme of the movie is to follow your dreams no matter what may be pitted against you and I feel like you understood that. Thank you so much for attending the movie night.
It's been a great semester,
